Here are some great opportunities to be FOR our community this Summer.
Operation Back to School
We are partnering with First UM and Other organizations in town to provide backpacks filled with supplies for Preschool through 12th Grade Students that will be distributed in Fountain Park on July 30.
Donate
$30 will provide a backpack & supplies for one student. If you would like to donate, you can Venmo by clicking the button below or mail a check to First United Methodist,113 W Central Ave., Van Wert, Ohio 45891. For both payment options put "Operation Back to School" in the memo.
Volunteer
On Sunday, July 30 from 3-5p backpacks will be distributed at Fountain Park. Volunteers are needed to pack backpacks with supplies the week before as well as serve the day of the event. This is a family friendly event so this would be a great thing to do with your kids. Click the volunteer button below, fill out the form, and someone will be in touch with the details
What is IGNITE?
Ignite is a multi-day local missions event that allows individuals to reach out to their neighbors with the Love of Christ! We meet with homeowners, evaluate their needs, gather materials and then provide volunteers with the opportunities to meet those needs.
Volunteers can choose to help all 3 days, one day or a part of a day whatever works for your schedule.
Ways to help during this event:
- Work on projects; all skill levels needed
- Share life with the homeowner for a day
- Prepare/Serve/Clean up meals
- Clean host facilities
- Transport materials
What a day will look like:
- 7:00am - Registration/Breakfast at Trinity Friends Church
- 7:30am - Announcements/Devotions
- 8:00am - Head to job sites
- 12:00pm - Sack lunch at job site
- 5:30pm - Dinner at Trinity Friends Church
- 6:00pm - Testimonies from the day & evening worship service
Help us Restock our Local Food Pantries
Our local pantries are in need of canned goods, pastas, sauces, and other non-perishable items so that they can serve those families in our communities that could use a little extra help this summer.
Please bring any items that you would like to donate to LifeHouse. There is a collection area in the lobby.
